Nagarhole National Park is situated in Kodagu district of Karnataka. Nagarhole is famous for its tiger sightings,  serene forest and amazing wildlife. The park’s name is derived from two Kannada words i.e Nagara (which means cobara) and Hole (means river). Nagarahole is exactly like its name i.e filled with hills, valleys, waterfalls, and sorrounded by the beautiful green forest.

It was originally constituted into a sanctuary in the year 1955 covering an area of 258 sq. Kms. Nagarhole is a deciduous forest, the forest looks dry with all the leaves shredded in the summer. This gives a good opportunity to see through the forest at greater depth and thus good chance to spot wildlife.

And if you visit in Rainy or Winter season, the forest looks really serene & lush green everywhere, with wildlife spotting. So different season gives you different wildlife sightings experience.

Lakshmana and Teentha rivers flow nearby the Nagarhole National Park and the entire park area is enveloped in greenery and flora with waterfalls adding to its beauty truly makes the Nagarhole National Park a beautiful habitat for wildlife animals.

The park stretches at the foothills of the Western Ghats spreading down the Brahmagiri hills and south towards Kerala state. River Kabini separates the Nagarhole National Park from the Bandipur National Park.
